Some people love to exercise and will do it whatever is going on in their life. However, most of us need a little extra help. To ensure you achieve your goals it is vital that you participate in activity that's at the right level for you and is enjoyable. Unfortunately, for most people, working out by on your own in the gym does neither of these things and to be blunt it can be very boring. It is also difficult to get the level right by yourself and therefore you won't achieve what you want to achieve.
Our Solution…
We have developed a large timetable of instructor led classes and gym workshops to make your exercise time more enjoyable, more effective and more relevant to you.
Firstly, all our timetabled activities are split into 4 levels:
Level 1 – Beginners
Level 2 – Getting fitter
Level 3 – Already fit
Level 4 – Very fit
We have produced 4 separate timetables (1 for each level) so that you only need to see the activities that are relevant to you and you are less likely to end up in a class which is at the wrong level.
We recommend you decide which of the above levels describes you best and then participate.
3 step plan to achieving your goals
1. Choose an activity you enjoy
2. Find your activity at the right level for you e.g. level 2
3. Set yourself a realistic goal to achieve. This could be as simple as 'I want to go to 3 classes a week'
Most fitness professionals will recommend that the average healthy individual does 30 minutes of moderate cardio vascular exercise 3-5 times per week.
If you are new to exercise or it's been a while since you stepped in the gym, then you should have a rest day after each workout day to allow your body to recover and repair.

FAQ's
I'm a new member, what do I need to do to use the gym?
You will need to book a Club induction; this involves a presentation of the facilities we offer and also you will be shown around the gym by one of our instructors. You must have had an induction in order to use the gym.
I'm not sure what level I am; I'm worried I won't be able to keep up?
The best thing to do is decide which level you think you are, and then go to the one below that level. This will make sure you aren't out of your depth and can build up to the next level over the next few weeks.
What do I need to wear?
Think comfort. Shorts or jogging bottoms, T-shirt or vest top, trainers are also essential.
How do I join in with one of the Gym workshops?
Tickets are available from reception 30 minutes before the workshop starts. Give the ticket to the instructor at the start of the workshop and they will look after you from there.
What is the frame in the gym with straps hanging off it?!
This is our new TRX Suspension training area. There are TRX workshops which you can attend so you know what to do on it. We have some video links on the Home page for you to watch about our new kit. |
